The Youth Enterprise Development Fund provides loans to groups and individuals and has regional offices in the following towns:Nairobi,Kisumu,Mombasa,Kakamega,Nyeri,Eldoret,Nakuru,Meru,Garissa and Machakos.
FILM LOAN (Take 254)
Aims to provide working capital for youth in film making business.The loan will be for pre-production,production and post-production.The loan is available to individuals,registered groups,partnerships and companies owned and run by the youth.
Eligibility:
• Must be registered with the relevant government body.
• For business entities membership composition must be at least 70% youth (18-34 years).
• A clearly outlined technically and financially sound business project proposal must be availed.
• The loan will accrue interest at a rate of 8% flat rate and processing fee of 3%
• Applicants must submit completed loan proposal forms.The loan will be advanced for film making business activities only.
Loan Amount: Ksh 500,000-Ksh 25 Million
Repayment Period:
For loans between Ksh 500,000-Ksh 10 Million,the grace period will be 2 months and the project must be completed in 4 months.
For loans above Ksh 10 Million-Ksh 25 million,the grace period will be 3 months and the project must be completed in 6 months.
Maximum repayment period will be 72 months (6 years) after the respective grace period

About Youth County Projects Kenya and the Founder
Violet Mbiti is the founder of the blog “Youth County Projects Kenya” that seeks to fill the knowledge and awareness gap regarding youth projects being implemented by Non-Governmental Organizations, Civil Society Organizations, Private Sector, National Government, County Governments, donors and individuals in the 47 counties in Kenya.
Violet Mbiti holds a Masters Degree in Project Management from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Journalism from United States International University .She has initiated and implemented projects that cover the health sector, Renewable Energy Sector, Water Sector, Environment Sector and Social Entrepreneurship. She also sought the donors who funded the above projects.
Violet is also an alumni of the Political Leadership and Governance Programme offered by Friedrich Ebert Stiftung which is funded by the German Government and is the Vice Chairperson of Improved Stoves Association of Kenya Machakos County. Violet is an advisory council board member of Hand in Hand Eastern Africa youth project titled “The Peace and Prosperity through Job Creation”.
This platform seeks to motivate youth to initiate projects in their respective communities to achieve Vision 2030 within the social,economic and political pillars.
