The program is split into two parts:
PART 1: ONLINE DOCUMENTARY TRAINING

The first part is a standalone online course  on documentary filmmaking essentials.
It’ll be offered as a free certification for visitors to the American Center y at the U.S. Embassy, Nairobi. Students will have life-time access to the curriculum which will continuously be updated and improved.
Over the course of the class, participants will engage in a challenging curriculum that teaches filmmaking fundamentals and techniques.

PART 2: FILMMAKING INTENSIVE
The second part of the project is a one-time, week-long filmmaking intensive (based in Nairobi) that is offered to the first group of students to complete the course.
Selected applicants will be invited to complete the online course. In the final week of class, Stories Found instructors will join the students in Nairobi to help them create a short film, and ultimately apply the knowledge that they’ve learned.
The Stories Found team will further assist the students in submitting their films to festivals.

Applicants will be applying for the filmmaking intensive. The online curriculum will be a free resource available to visitors of the American Center, Nairobi in August 2018.
